The University of Guelph offers several academic programs that emphasize the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. These programs are designed to prepare students and professionals to tackle complex health challenges through interdisciplinary approaches.

Bachelor of One Health

At the undergraduate level, the Bachelor of One Health is a pioneering four-year honours degree program, unique in North America. It integrates disciplines such as biology, environmental science, sociology, and veterinary medicine to provide a holistic understanding of health. Students can opt for a co-op stream, gaining up to 12 months of paid work experience in various sectors. Graduates are well-equipped for careers in public health, conservation, policy analysis, and more, or for further studies in professional or graduate programs.
Collaborative Specialization in One Health

For graduate students, the Collaborative Specialization in One Health (CSOH) offers an interdisciplinary framework that complements various master’s and doctoral programs. Participants engage in multidisciplinary research, knowledge mobilization, and policy development, addressing challenges at the nexus of human, animal, and environmental health. Students are admitted through participating departments and undertake specialized coursework and research projects that apply the One Health approach.
DVM/MPH Combined Degree Program

The DVM/MPH combined degree program enables students to earn both a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Master of Public Health in five years, reducing the time compared to pursuing each separately. This program builds upon the One Health focus of the DVM curriculum, introducing veterinary students to public health practices and opportunities earlier in their academic journey.
Mobilizing One Health

The Mobilizing One Health microcredential is a seven-week online course tailored for adult learners. It delves into the foundational principles and practical applications of the One Health approach, emphasizing systems thinking, ethical considerations, and collaborative problem-solving. Participants engage with interactive content, case studies, and group projects, earning a badge upon completion.
